Digital Humanities Student Association

About us

Hello! We are the Digital Humanities Student Association (DHSA), housed at the Center for Digital Humanities and Textual Studies at Loyola University Chicago (a mouthful, aye!).

The DHSA was founded in Fall 2019 as students of the MA in Digital Humanities Program felt there was the need for a space for students to meet, discuss, share ideas and thoughts outside of the administrative umbrella.

The founding members were the Class of 2020 (Caroline McCraw, Ericka Christies, Zach Stella, Bill Sun), and the Class of 2021 (Andrew French, Anna Kroon, Eliora Horst, Prakruti Maniar and Regina Hong).

This year, we are joined by Owen Ruggiero and Emma Bauman.

What should you expect here?

As graduate researchers from predominantly humanities backgrounds ranging from History and English, to Anthropology, Journalism and more, we look to share our experiences as DH practitioners, our questions, and our work with the larger DH community.

Expect to read all about DH; What is it? What are the tools we use and how did we learn to use them? What are the critical questions we ask and the analyses we make in our classroom?

We will regularly put out blog posts on such questions and other related topics. If you are an aspiring Digital Humanist or just curious and have questions, feel free to write to us at luc.dhsa@gmail.com!
